Professor Selcuk Yucel graduated from Marmara University Medical School in Istanbul with first rank honors degree at 1995. He was certified by ECFMG to obtain medical licence in the USA at the same year after passing USMLE Part I and II and TOEFL. Professor Selcuk Yucel chose to continue his residency in Urology at Marmara University, Istanbul. He was accepted as a visiting resident in general surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital Harvard University, Boston in 1997. After completion his urology residency in 2000 in Marmara University, he started his professional medical carreer as the attending urologist andrologist and surgeon in Acıbadem Hospital in Istanbul. He was appointed as the attending urologist and surgeon and faculty to Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkey at 2001.

In 2001, he was accepted as the Research Fellow in Urology and Pediatric Urology at University of California San Francisco under the supervision of Prof Laurence S Baskin. He joined and started many research basic science and clinical studies on hypospadias, vesicoureteral reflux, undescended testis, penile surgery, urinary incontinence, prostate disease, uerthral stricture with grants and awards from NIH, SPU and similar international foundations. His studies were awarded twice by Jack Lapides Neurourology and Urodynamics, California Urology Foundationi European Urology Association. He also observed and contributed to andrology and reconstructive urology cases with erectile dysfunction, varicocele, penile prosthesis, penil curvature, urethral stricture and urethroplasty, cystocele and pelvic floor disorders and urinary incontinence in women, urinary incontinence in men and prostate surgeries.

He also had a global Pfizer Award for his studies on urinary incontinence and neurogenic bladder in adults and children in 2004.

He recertified his ECFMG in 2004 and obtained Texas Medical Board Licence to start an ACGME accredited clinical fellowship in pediatric urology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, USA under the supervision of Prof Warren T Snodgrass, Professor Linda Baker and Professor Duncan Wilcox. He experienced on complex hypospadias cases, two stage surgerişes, buccal urethroplasty, penile curvature surgery, penile legthening surgery, minimally invasive and endoscopic and laparoscopic treatments of urinary tract infections, undescended testiscle, vesicoureteral reflux, ureterpelvic obstruction, hydronephrosis, ureterocele, megaureter, nephrectomy. He also developed a minimally invasice undescended testiscle and hydrocele and varicolece surgeries. He also experienced on urinary incontinence treatments in spina bifida and neurogenic bladder cases.

In 2006, Professor Selcuk Yucel was selected as the trainers training for the master class in reconstructive and functional urology by European Urology Association at Nice, France. He was trained by the European Masters on urinary incıntinence in men and women, cystocele, pelvic prolapsus, penile surgeries for curvature, urethral stricture or erectile dysfunction, crippled  hypospadias surgery, urethral fistula and biofeedback and Botox injections.

He then visited UCSF and Cleveland Clinic as visiting faculty to give lectures, participate meetings and educational courses.

Professor Selcuk Yucel has left Akdeniz University at 2013 and appointed as the Professor in Urology and Pediatric Urology at Acibadem University. He has chaired the Pediatric Urology Section, Urinary Incontinence Center and Urethral Stricture and Male Health Center at Acibadem University and Hospitals until 2018.

Professor Selçuk Yücel is currently chairing the Pediatric Urology Section at Marmara University School of Medicine. He is educating medical school students, urology residents and pediatric urology fellows.

He is currently practicing in Turkey and also other countries with second opinion with consultation and medical and surgical treatment options.

His main interest is pediatric urology, urethral surgery, andrology, urinary incontinence, prostate diseases and minimally invasive endoscopic, laparoscopic and da Vinci robotic surgery.
